Integrating Literacy

It was daddy’s birthday this week-a great excuse to write for real purposes.

We wrote birthday messages on the door to surprise daddy with Crayola’s markers made for writing on glass; which you can find at Target, Wal-Mart, Michael’s, etc.

NJoy is really into drawing balloons these days, so he drew quite a few on the door for daddy.

ALuv stretching out the sounds in the words he hears, with a little help from mama.

We made birthday cards for daddy, too.

Of course, decorating our cards with stickers and stamps helps make it more enjoyable.  By the way, peeling stickers and taking lids off of stamps are fun and authentic ways to practice those fine motor skills–an added bonus for this reading mama!

Giving it to daddy is half the fun!
